The Art of Storytelling

Creative writing program for middle school girls

The program focuses on finding joy and confidence through writing. Girls learn about the various components of storytelling, and work on developing their own unique voice through testing out a variety of genres. This process will involve playful writing prompts as well as self-reflection. Each session involves instruction on the "art of storytelling" along with an inspirational reading, a writing prompt, and time to share and receive feedback. We adhere to the Amherst Writing Method, a methodology rooted in the belief that everyone is a writer, and that all feedback must be positive.

To learn more about us, check out our list of 7 Frequently Asked Questions, our Note for Parents, the feedback from both parents and girls, and our Our Commitment to Girls.

Note: Our offerings are so unique, the best way to experience the magic of the Intuitive Writing Project is to have your daughter try one of our classes. But before she attends a class, it can be helpful to schedule a short phone chat. This way we can learn more about your daughter's interests and make sure we find the best-fit program to meet her unique needs. We are here to support you in the heroic work of being a parent!

Each classes is 2 hours. Tuition: $80 per class, paid monthly or quarterly.

Classes start the first week of December (after Thanksgiving break) and run through the end of February. (There will be no classes over winter break or any other school holiday.)

The schedule will be determined by those enrolled. You can read about our teachers here.

Interested students should complete the form below. Once your class has been scheduled, you will be invoiced a one-time, $160 deposit fee, which will be applied toward your tuition. For more information or to schedule an informational phone call, email
