Telling your story in a powerful way

So much of the college application process depends on the strength of your personal essay. In this one-on-one writing session, we help students connect with and articulate their values, passions, and interests, to think about how they want to use their strengths in service to the world—and how to tell their story in an authentic and inspiring way. (Fun fact:  every student who's worked with us on their college essay has been accepted into one of their first-choice schools, including Brown, Northeastern, Tufts, USC, UCLA, Cal Poly, and American University. Truly, a well-told story can change your life!)

As with all our programs, we use the Amherst Writing Method, a methodology rooted in the belief that everyone is a writer, all feedback is focused on the strengths of the writer, and our unique writing voice will continually grow clearer and stronger, the more it is expressed and encouraged.

To discuss your child's unique interests and schedule a private session, contact Elizabeth.

  • 1 hour per session, $110/session (We can usually complete and refine one essay in two sessions.)

PARENT TESTIMONIALS

“Thank you for all of your help with my son. I have been blown away by everything he has written and can’t thank you enough for the help and inspiration you have given him. When he’s felt “stuck” and struggled—as anyone who has undertaken any creative endeavor will understand happens—he’s always come away from your meetings invigorated and inspired. I can’t thank you enough for that.” — Father of a coaching student

"Thank you for your incredible work with my son. Your encouragement has meant so much to him and given him a real boost of confidence. Not only was he accepted into his first-choice school, but he also learned a lot about himself in the process.” — Mother of a coaching student
